What is Infinix?

The mid-range and affordable smartphone markets are the main focus of the Infinix brand. Based in Hong Kong, it was established in 2013. Infinix smartphones are well-known for providing competitive features at reasonable costs, which has led to its widespread popularity, especially in Asia and Africa. Large displays, numerous cameras, and long-lasting batteries are some of the newest technological advances in smartphones that they frequently include.

Infinix GT 20 pro: Design

Infinix's most recent phone in the GT series expands upon the Cyber Mecha design seen with the August 2023 release of the GT 10 Pro model. Nothing's monochrome Glyph interface for its smartphones served as the model for the company's Mecha Loop Lighting, which is included on both of these smartphones.

Its rear features a transparent panel over what seems to be a primarily metallic surface, and its camera module is shaped and organized similarly to its predecessor's. The back panel's RGB LED lighting module has a "G"-shaped design, with the curved part lighting up to indicate calls, notifications, charging, and music. Party Mode can also be enabled, albeit it will use more battery life to keep the lights on all the time.

The GT 20 Pro from Infinix boasts smooth, metallic-looking plastic sides that make it easy to hold onto the phone without slipping out of your hands. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack; instead, the SIM tray, USB Type-C connector, speaker grille, and power and volume rocker buttons are on the right side of the device.

The Infinix GT 20 Pro has an infrared (IR) blaster on its top edge that can be used to control a variety of gadgets and home appliances through a simple settings shortcut. A second speaker grille is included, along with the faint phrase "Sound by JBL."The Infinix GT 20 Pro has an infrared (IR) blaster on its top edge that can be used to control a variety of gadgets and home appliances through a simple settings shortcut. Its 6.78-inch screen feels tall, which makes using it with one hand a little difficult. Still, the phone is comfortable to hold thanks to its thin design. My thumb could easily reach the power button. Good news for gamers: the phone is also incredibly pleasant to grip in landscape mode.

Infinix GT 20 Pro: Cameras

There's a 2-megapixel macro camera, a 2-megapixel depth-sensing sensor, and a 108-megapixel primary rear camera with a Samsung HM6 sensor that supports optical image stabilization (OIS). A 32-megapixel front-facing camera is also included for recording videos and taking selfies.

Infinix GT 20 Pro 5G Camera

Using the built-in camera app, the Infinix GT 20 Pro's two rear cameras may be utilized to take pictures. Images with a reasonable amount of detail can be captured by the 108-megapixel camera, particularly when there is sufficient natural light and you are sufficiently close to the subject. Although there is a pro mode in the built-in camera software that allows you to tweak different settings like white balance and ISO level, I found that the default option, called "AI Cam," produced far superior results.

The main camera of the Infinix GT 20 Pro occasionally produces pictures with somewhat off colors while shooting distant things in less-than-ideal illumination. Images containing patches of brown color sometimes appear darker or somewhat more reddish.

With an in-sensor crop, the primary camera can also take pictures at a 3x magnification. When there is adequate light and the subject isn't too far away, it works well. The camera smooths down images to eliminate noise while taking pictures in low light or at night, which causes a significant loss of detail in the pictures that are taken.

Even in daylight conditions, the Infinix GT 20 Pro's macro camera performs appallingly. There is just not enough information in the picture, and the edges of the things are blurry. The colors are also less brilliant than they were taken with the primary camera. The macro camera produces significantly less detailed and noisy low-light photos.

Infinix GT 20 Pro Camera

The default camera on the Infinix GT 20 Pro supports OIS at up to 4K/30fps, so you can record films at up to 4K/60fps. To use OIS, you must activate the Ultra Steady Mode in the camera app. If you plan to take films while moving around, I strongly advise you to make use of this function.

In the meanwhile, the phone's selfie camera is passable; but, in order to take full-resolution photos, you must activate the 32-megapixel setting through the camera interface. It's a good thing I didn't discover the "beautification" options when taking pictures. Additionally, the clarity of the photos is average in low light and pretty good in regular illumination.

Additionally, the default camera app on the Infinix GT 20 Pro has a dual video mode that lets you record videos with both the primary (rear) and selfie cameras at the same time. You could also change the size of the videos that were taken with both cameras, and there was no lag when taking dual movies.

Infinix GT 20 Pro: Performance

I tested the Infinix GT 20 Pro's claimed 90 frames per second in games that allow higher frame rates, using Call of Duty: Mobile and Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI). In addition, the phone runs games like Genshin Impact well on "medium" settings; unlike other phones in the same price range, there were no hiccups or stutters.

Infinix GT 20 Pro 5G Gaming performance

After more than an hour of gaming, I didn't detect the phone was throttling, and for the majority of that time, I wasn't even utilizing the GT Cooling Fan that came with the phone. It is important to remember that I tested my game in the summer, when temperatures were far above forty. If you don't mind an extra cable getting in the way while playing, the cooling fan may be magnetically attached to a case and keeps the back of the phone pretty cold.

Additionally, there is an X-Boost mode that provides performance mode, standard power usage, and battery saving. Additional optimizations are accessible, such as an HDR setting that somewhat enhances graphics (mostly colors) in titles like Genshin Impact and Asphalt 9. Additionally, there is an e-sports mode that enhances performance, notifications, and other settings to provide a more engaging gaming environment.

This phone's XOS 14 for GT is optimized, and surprisingly for a phone in this price range, there aren't many pre-installed apps. Additionally, there are no advertisements. The web and social networking apps are easy to navigate, and other apps function flawlessly. On the other hand, there were a few isolated cases when some apps were reloaded after returning after launching another app.

In well-known benchmark tests, the Infinix GT 20 Pro scored 895,790 points on the AnTuTu v10 test and 1,000 points and 3,413 points in the single-core and multi-core tests on Geekbench, respectively. With regard to performance, the GT 20 Pro received 18,328 points on PCMark's Work 3.0 benchmark.

In benchmark graphics tests, the phone fared well as well, earning 6,514 and 6,441 points in the respective Wild Life and Wild Life Unlimited tests. It "maxed out" the Sling Shot Extreme test with 3,865 points on the Sling Shot test. Comparably, the phone scored 54 frames per second on the Car Chase test on GFXBench and 101, 144, and 91 frames per second on the Manhattan 3.1 and T-Rex tests.

Infinix GT 20 Pro 5G performance

The 6.78-inch full-HD+ (1,080x2,436 pixel) AMOLED screen on the GT 20 Pro from Infinix has a maximum brightness of 1,300 nits and a refresh rate of up to 144Hz. Although the display performs admirably in outside conditions, is highly responsive for using daily apps and games, and provides good visibility, it lacks the brightness of rival phones that claim to have the same peak brightness level.

My most used apps and games on the Infinix GT 20 Pro were Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), Genshin Impact, WhatsApp, and YouTube Music, according to the Digital Wellbeing app. With the 5,000mAh battery in the phone, I was able to use the off-screen time for an average of 6 hours and 22 minutes.

In our HD battery video loop test, the Infinix GT 20 Pro ran for 17 hours and 32 minutes. Using the provided charging cable, it took roughly 63 minutes to charge the device from 0% to 100%, with over 48% of the battery still needing to be charged after 30 minutes. Additionally, it supports bypass charging while gaming, which appears to maintain battery life during gaming sessions and prevent excessive overheating without requiring the cooling fan to be attached.

Infinix GT 20 Pro: Battery

A 45W charger and 5,000mAh battery power the Infinix GT 20 Pro. Even though the charging speed is acceptable, it's important to note that a lot of competitors now offer at least 67W charging. However, the battery backup will not let you down.

In fact, I received a full day's battery backup even with the highest settings (144Hz and performance mode) enabled and the RGB lighting on the back turned on all the time. It took over 10 hours for the battery to drain from 100% to 20% in PCMark's battery test, which is still a respectable result.

Infinix GT 20 Pro: Verdict

Is the Infinix GT 20 Pro the greatest smartphone under Rs. 25,000 available right now in terms of performance? There truly isn't any phone that gives the same level of CPU and display performance when gaming, therefore the answer to your question is definitely yes if you're seeking for a strong phone that can handle most games and other demanding chores. Additionally, the phone has a clutter-free operating system, which is becoming progressively rare at this price range. Two OS updates will also be given to the phone, which is an enhancement over its previous model.

Other phones in the similar price range are the OnePlus Nord CE 4 (Review), Poco X6 Pro (Review), Nothing Phone 2a (Review), Samsung Galaxy F55 (First Impressions), and Motorola Edge 50 Fusion. In benchmark tests, only the Poco X6 Pro outperforms the Infinix GT 20 Pro. If you're not just looking for the best gaming performance when buying a smartphone, then keep in mind that the other phones offer a better overall experience, including superior camera performance.
